Industrial Reverse Osmosis Machines Reduce Wastewater Discharge

Industrial RO systems can provide process water of high standard for production. The process effectively removes suspended matter, organic matter, microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, colloids, and salt metal ions in industrial wastewater. The system is currently used in various industries, including power stations, refineries, and manufacturing.

In addition to utilizing A-grade reverse osmosis membranes, the process can also be combined with other filtration technologies, such as flocculation, sediment filtration, ultraviolet sterilization, polishing, etc. The quality of process water can be further improved.

Industrial Reverse Osmosis RO Water Treatment Process

The feed water is first pre-treated through a multimedia pre-filter to remove odor, color, chlorine, and hardness. The pre-treated water is then delivered to the RO system. A high-pressure pump pressurizes the water so that clean water flows from the low-pressure end of the RO membrane, further removing salts, minerals, and other impurities.

The unit can be paired with a variety of pre-treatment and post-treatment processes, including multimedia pre-filters, water softeners, scale inhibitor dosing systems, UV sterilizers, or post-chlorination units.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How Much Does an Industrial Reverse Osmosis System Cost?

Industrial reverse osmosis systems’ prices can vary greatly depending on the size and specifications of the system. Factors such as capacity, how the device is assembled, and any additional features or technologies included can affect the price of a system.

On average, the cost of industrial reverse osmosis equipment can range from $10,000 to $1,000,000 or more. It is best to consult a supplier for a specific quote based on the needs of your application.

2. How Do I Choose the Right Industrial Reverse Osmosis System for My Application?

There are some factors to consider when selecting an industrial reverse osmosis (RO) system.

  • Water source.
  • Flow rate and recovery rate.
  • Water quality.
  • Space and power requirements.
  • Maintenance and service.

It’s recommended to consult with a water treatment expert or a supplier to help you identify the right industrial RO  machine for your specific application.

3. What Are The Maintenance Requirements for Industrial Reverse Osmosis Plants and How Often Do They Need to be Serviced?

Industrial reverse osmosis (RO) plants require regular maintenance to ensure they are operating at optimal efficiency. Some common maintenance tasks for industrial RO machines include:

  • Cleaning or replacing pre-treatment filters.
  • Cleaning or replacing the RO membrane.
  • Checking and adjusting the system’s pressure and flow rate.
  • Check and adjust the pH and conductivity of the equipment.
  • Inspect and replace any damaged or worn components.

In general, industrial RO plants should be serviced at least once a year. More frequently if the feed water has high levels of contaminants or if the system is being used in a harsh environment.
